Like many, I happened into Market Research; while in a PhD program for Political Science, I became fascinated with untangling how people make decisions and form opinions. I also figured out that I did like math – of the Statistics variety, that is. A career in academia didn’t feel like the right fit though; I wanted something more applied; I needed more visibility to the outcomes of my work. This led me to an entry-level Market Research job. After that – I was hooked and never looked back.
There is something about finding solutions to tough business challenges (whether that be through research or something else) that feeds my outcomes-driven heart; I love working with teams to create approaches that inform decisions that drive organizations forward. I love the process of understanding the need, learning a client’s business, crafting solutions and seeing them through to application. Nerdy? Yes. True? Also yes.
When I’m not working, I’m a mom/sport-activity chauffer, wife, and joiner (I sign up for everything!). I love doing anything with my family, cooking, traveling (and travel planning) and back-woods hiking/camping.
